Fantastic 2011-12 season! Congratulations to all the Storm girls and their families on a very successful CYO campaign this year. The girls played well, won a bunch of games, made the playoffs, hopefully learned something about the game and had fun.
Playing up a grade level is not easy and making the playoffs was an amazing accomplishment. The entire team should be extremely proud of their effort!

Progress...
Don't like to lose but the girls got better in a loss yesterday. Some great timely defense, clutch jumpshooting and girls driving to the hoop and drawing fouls kept it close and gave the Storm a chance to win it, stayed in the game until the very end.
Rough game, a grind, many fouls called but The Storm stayed out of foul trouble for the most part spreading them around. Third quarter comeback from being down 11 to get within 4, couldn't hold the momentum. Lots of defensive lapses in the third and fourth.
Fun game to watch against a team with good ball movement and active help defense. That's why we play up!

Preseason Tournament Champs!
Nicely run preseason CYO tournament at Fundamental Sports Training in Westbury. Brand new floor which was beautiful and a great opportunity for the girls to get to know one another prior to the CYO season. In the first game The Storm beat an overmatched St Boniface 8th grade B team.
In the second game The Storm were challenged but persevered against a combined Silver Bullets/NY Elite 7th, 8th grade team. The girls looked like they were working extremely hard but still having fun. They got a nice shiny medal for their efforts which made all the girls as well as the coach and parents very happy

Help us find a cure for pediatric cancer!
Storm,
Did you know that one in 300 Americans will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20? Did you know that each year cancer kills more children and adolescents than any other disease? Did you know that you can make a difference?
I've decided to do something about pediatric cancer and I'd like to invite you to help. The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation is holding its innaugural "Dribble for the Cure" on Saturday, September 24th at St. John's University. The money raised will fund research that explores causes, treatments and cures for pediatric cancer. PCRF works very hard to ensure that over 80% of all funds raised go directly to research.
If you cannot join us for the event, please consider making a donation to support our efforts. You'll be helping me reach my goal, as well as raising money to fight a disease that robs too many children of their childhood.
Making a donation is easy. Simply visit my personal home page on PCRF's official web site by clicking on the CLICK HERE link below and use your credit card to make a tax-deductible donation in any amount.
Thanks for helping the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation "Dribble for the Cure!"
Thanks!
